~ Flowers ~

~ Flowers ~

Flowers are perfect. Not in what they actually are (for nothing is truly perfect but the Lord), but flowers are a perfect visual example of God’s love for us. God created us in His image, and, in His image, we are beautiful. Just as flowers are when they bloom. But flowers don’t always bloom. Many types go dormant for a season or two, and do not appear as beautiful and might even be mistaken for dead – or lost, much as the soul is when it turns away from the Lord. Yet, unnoticed by many, the flower continues struggling. It struggles to return to a stage when it blooms and is beautiful once more. Does God then love these flowers any less for the times that they are bare? No…no. I think, during those barren times, that God loves them perhaps even more, for He continues to care for them so that they can bloom once again. Does He not do the same for us?

We are created in God’s image. When we walk in His ways, we are beautiful…but there are many temptations in this world, and we do not always follow the path He has set for us. At these times, we are dormant in spirit, just like the flowers, but the good Lord continues to provide His love so that we may once again find our way to Him and become beautiful once again.
